Part two of my year in review brings me onto one of the most unusual and challenging product shoots of 2016.
The Water Walker is an underwater treadmill for veterinary hydrotherapy.
Constructed out of glass, stainless steel and painted to a high gloss finish, this combination presented a challenge in terms of photographic lighting. Minimising the reflections on just one of those components can be difficult, not to mention the sheer size of the unit at 2.2m x 1.1m with the doors closed!
Due to the reflective nature of the many components I decided early on in the shoot to photograph some of the elements in isolation and edit them into a final composite image. This approach allowed me to light each component independently to ensure a quality final result.
My own dog Monty also got a starring role in the shoot – although he does not look too pleased about it.
